Classmate Awards

At the end of every school year, I have the students make a Classmate Award for a classmate.  Every student writes their name on one index card.  The students then put the index card into a class basket.  The students then choose a name out of the basket to find out who they will be making the Classmate Award for.  The students then have to create an award for that student such as "Kindest Kid Award", "Quietist Hall Walker", etc ( We usually brainstorm ideas on the board to get our creative ideas flowing).  I also take a picture of the student pairs so that we can place the photo of both of them together on the award.  The students present these on the last day of school and it ends our school year with great classroom pride.
